"Allatonceness"

As brilliant as this book is ('The Medium Is the Massage' by Marshall McLuan), the language is somewhat hard to digest. The word 'allatonceness' springs up half way through the book with no reference to its meaning. After scouring the net I have found no eveidence that this word exists in the English language. "Ours is a brand new world of allatonceness", is the context in which the word is used but still it gives no clue as to its meaning or origin. The search continues.

Entroducing - Ambush Mob

Since the conception of Ambush back in 2005, we've been searching for the best way to fuse our favourite sounds into one mega performance. I am proud to say that after a year in the making we can say the Ambush Mob is fully mobile. Consisting of MisterBump (myself), Kid Chameleon (Hugo Horvath) and Kitsch&Sync (Matt Choules), we're aiming to shock the masses with our no-holes-barred mash up action. Not only do we have MisterBump and Kid C fronting the turntables and CDJ's with 3/4 tune mixing but we have Kitsch&Sync dropping crowd winning tunes by way of acappellas and loops with the cunning help of Ableton Live. With our first public outing in late September, it won't be long before Nottingham is fully ambushed. Hold tight.

Back To Multimedia

After a hectic holiday, I'm back to prepare for the start of term. I've seen many thing over the course of my "summer" that could in some way relate to the work I undertake during the second and third years. Most memorably 'The Bristol Meth' (Mr. Hopkinson's_Computer) and the installations of 'Semi Conductor'.

Bristol Meth's 'Cutting Up My Friends' (above) is an interactive Flash based piece that allows the user to set up rhythms of movement and sound between various pieces of edited film. Check it out.

I came across a Semi Conductor installation by the name of 'Earth Moves' in early August (below). It shows the world as we have never seen it before. Videos are animated to naturally recorded, everyday sounds and the world fluxes around theses sounds with a mixture of still photography and 3D animation. Very clever.
